‘On the Move: Mobile Phones and the Tapestry of Home’ is curated by Azadeh Fatehrad and emphasises the role of mobile phones as symbolic links connecting individuals to their origins. A combination of docu-fiction film, photography, written and spoken word draws viewers into the intricate world of migration, memory, and the quest for belonging; underscoring the nuanced relationship between modern technology and deeply personal memories and perceptions of home.

The exhibition results from the series of participatory aesthetic workshops undertaken in Sweden, the UK, and Denmark in 2022-2024, in partnership with the NGOs Baltic Art Center Visby, Compass Collective and ActionAid Denmark, and the facilitators.

Funded by NordForsk under Joint Nordic-UK research programme on Migration and Integration [Project number 94893] 2020-2024.
