This ethnographic film invites you into the lives of three migrant women in Sweden, weaving their stories through the lens of the MaHoMe project, which delves into how migrants craft a sense of home in unfamiliar terrain. Rooted in the immersive fieldwork of Dr Eleonora Narvselius and Dr Nada Al-Hudaid (Lund University), the film draws upon a tapestry of over 50 interviews and case studies from the UK, Denmark, and Sweden.
Through the journeys of Nada, Maryam, and Abeer, we witness the fluidity of "integration”, a term whose meaning bends and reshapes itself through their experiences. For each woman, the act of homemaking becomes an art—crafted in the fine details of daily life, steeped in resilience and creativity. Watch as they transform foreign spaces into places of connection, creating homes in ways uniquely their own. (final edit in process)
