‘Maybe in the future I'll have two homes’: temporalities of migration and family life among Vietnamese people in London, in Johanna L. Waters and Brenda S. A. Yeoh (eds.),

This chapter explores research on time and temporality within studies of migration and the family, reflecting broader challenges to the dominance of spatial approaches to migration. It considers how temporal approaches to migration and the family can be advanced through a closer dialogue with scholarship on temporalities of home. Annabelle proposes that perspectives on home can contribute to the ‘temporal turn’ in migration studies through enhancing understanding of transnational family practices, aspirations and imaginaries of home and how these intersect with different timescales of migration.
