Art Workshop Lazareti Residency, June 2024

In collaboration with curator Tijana Miskovic, Kristina Grünenberg and Marta Padovan-Özdemir had their workshop residency proposal, ‘Diffractive research meets the art of curating: On finding home in migration’, accepted in the 2024 program of the Art Workshop Lazareti in Dubrovnik. 

 

The aim of the five-day workshop residency from 17-21 June 2024 was to explore the potentials of diffractive thinking and practice for the development of formats for curating research data on the topic of home and homemaking conditioned by migration. 

 

The residency resulted in a Manifesto for Diffractive Research Curation (OUTPUT PDF and in a prototype research exhibition, On finding home in migration curated by Tijana Mišković and Marta Padovan-Özdemir. (EXHIBITION CATALOGUE)

 

A chapter, “A Manifesto for Diffractive Research Curation” written by Marta Padovan-Özdemir, Tijana Mišković & Kristina Grünenberg will be published in the edited volume, Aesthetic methodological interventions in migrant homemaking amidst divergent integration politics in Denmark, Sweden and the UK, eds. Fran Lloyd, Eleonora Narvselius & Marta Padovan-Özdemir.

 

Based on the experiences from the residency, Tijana Mišković is contributing a chapter, “Art and Research in a Curatorial Perspective” in the forthcoming edited volume, Handbook on Arts-Based Research edited by Lars Emmerik Damgaard & Mette Rold (in Danish).
